น้ำหนักกดแทมเปอร์ หรือ Tamper pressure นั้นก็คือการอัดกาแฟให้แน่นสม่ำเสมอ มองดูเผินๆอาจดูไม่สำคัญแต่จริงๆแล้วสำคัญมาก การกดแทมเปอร์ ถ้าน้ำหนักน้อยหรือกดเบาไปกาแฟจะมีรถเปรี้ยว ถ้าลงน้ำหนักมากหรือกดหนักไปก็จะขมมาก
